Pharmacy Technician in San Mateo, CA

A healthcare facility in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work full-time with various shift options available throughout the day to accommodate different schedules, providing flexibility while supporting critical pharmacy operations.

Schedule/Hours:

Shifts begin at 6 AM, 8 AM, 10 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, and 3 PM
Each shift is 8.5 hours long, including a 30-minute lunch break

Key Responsibilities:

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately
Manage inventory, labeling, and packaging of pharmaceuticals
Support intravenous (IV) medication preparation and handling, particularly for those with existing IV experience
Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients regarding prescriptions and medication instructions

Desired Experience:

Previous Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred
Exposure to IV medication preparation strongly preferred; willingness to learn may be considered
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Certification or training as a Pharmacy Technician is a plus
