Biolife Paramedic (EMTP)

Job Description BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., operates plasma donation centers. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. The role requires commitment to customer service and quality, determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The specialist follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center‑level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS). Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders for Center Physician and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility concerns. Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine subsequent evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance as needed. Act as a pandemic coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats with EHS or Medical Affairs. Required Qualifications High‑school diploma or equivalent, or graduate degree from a recognized nursing program meeting state requirements. Current state license or certification required for responsibilities (EMT‑Paramedic). Current CPR and AED certifications. Abiding state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits & Compensation Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and local wage requirements.
