Billing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to take ownership of complex billing processes and support accurate, timely financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong accounts receivables background, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys partnering across teams to improve processes.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare, review, and issue accurate invoices based on contracts, service agreements, time and material, and usage data
- Analyze billing information to ensure compliance with contract terms and pricing structures
- Identify, research, and resolve billing discrepancies and escalated issues
- Serve as a point of contact for customer billing inquiries and dispute resolution
- Maintain detailed and accurate billing records and supporting documentation
- Process billing adjustments, credits, and corrections as needed
- Collaborate closely with accounting, sales, and operations teams to ensure billing accuracy
- Support month-end close, reconciliations, and billing-related reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and controls
What You'll Bring to the Table:
- 3+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related accounting role
- Demonstrated knowledge of AIA progress billings, schedules of values (SOVs), lien waivers, and accurate retention calculation.
- Strong understanding of billing workflows and accounting principles
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential financial information

- Wage range: $30-$35 per hour - Commensurate with experience. This range represents a general guideline; however, several factors are considered when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
