Registered Nurse - Short Stay

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards. Supervises and directs activities of nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment. Collects relevant data pertaining to the patient's health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to achieve desired outcomes. Implements the plan and coordinates care delivery. Employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or patient situation. Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers in delivering patient care. Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; acute care facility experience preferred. Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required. AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS or Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) required. Strong critical thinking and professional discretion. Ability to collaborate with a patient care team. Commitment to a safe and caring environment.
