Qualifications:

• Valid Delaware certification as a Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities (1571) or eligibility for Alternative Route to Certification (ARTC) is required.
• Experience or strong interest in teaching high school students with mild to moderate learning needs.
• Background in Language Arts instruction, including adapting curriculum and instructional techniques to support diverse learning styles.
• Excellent communication skills to partner with families, colleagues, and support staff for collaborative student success.
• Strong organizational abilities, creativity, and a passion for empowering all learners to reach their goals.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored Language Arts instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Assess student progress, adjust lesson plans, and provide timely feedback to students and families.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to promote student inclusion and growth.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences.
• Create supportive classroom environments that encourage engagement, independence, and self-advocacy.
