This full-time, full-year opportunity is based at a supportive school near Georgetown, DE, where you will inspire and engage learners as a Language Arts Special Education Teacher for grades 9-12.

Desired qualifications:

Current Delaware certification as a Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities (1571) or eligibility for ARTC
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
Proven experience teaching language arts to students with mild to moderate disabilities in a high school setting
Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key responsibilities:

Develop and deliver engaging language arts lessons for students in grades 9-12 with mild/moderate special education needs
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate individual learning styles
Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
Regularly assess student progress and provide updates to parents and educational staff
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrators on student goals and interventions
Participate in IEP meetings, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations
