Shape the future for students as a dedicated Language Arts Special Education Teacher for grades 9–12. Work full-time for the entire school year in a contract position supporting students with mild to moderate needs. Your expertise will ensure every learner’s success in a supportive secondary school environment near Bridgeville, DE.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Delaware certification as a Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities (1571) or eligibility for the Alternative Route to Certification (ARTC) is required
• Experience or strong skills teaching language arts to students in grades 9–12
• Demonstrated knowledge of strategies to support students with mild/moderate learning differences
• Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom climate

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and individualized language arts instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Adapt lessons to accommodate varying abilities, ensuring access to curriculum standards
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate best practices
• Develop and monitor IEP goals in partnership with families, administrators, and colleagues
• Provide ongoing assessment, progress monitoring, and necessary modifications for student growth
• Maintain thorough documentation and comply with state and federal special education regulations
