Step into an impactful role supporting high school students as a full-time, contract Special Education Teacher for the entire school year. Make a daily difference by guiding learners in grades 9-12 with mild to moderate disabilities, focusing on their growth in language arts. This opportunity will allow you to advance your skills while providing essential instruction and support to students who benefit from individualized attention.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Delaware certification as a Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities (1571), or eligibility for Alternative Route to Certification (ARTC) is required
  • Prior experience working with students in grades 9-12 is highly desirable
  • Background in language arts instruction within special education
  • Ability to deliver instruction tailored to students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and collaborative mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans for language arts, adapting materials to fit the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Create individualized educational plans (IEPs) and track student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster student achievement
  • Maintain thorough records and provide regular updates to parents and school administrators
  • Foster a positive, constructive atmosphere to support student engagement and confidence
