Data Center Cable Installation Technician

Location: Fairless Hills, PA

Contract: 6 months, with limited potential for full-time employment

About the Role

We are seeking Data Center Cable Installation Technicians to support the installation of AI racks and associated cabling at a data center project in Fairless Hills, PA.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding position ideal for candidates with experience in structured cabling, fiber/cable installation, telecommunications, or similar low-voltage and Layer 1 technology environments.

Successful candidates will work in an active construction/data center environment and should be comfortable working on ladders, in elevated or cramped spaces, and for extended periods on their feet.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, pull, route, and manage structured cabling and associated infrastructure.
• Support the installation of AI racks and related cabling systems.
• Work with fiber and other cabling technologies in a structured environment.
• Perform hands-on work in construction and data center environments.
• Safely work on ladders and in elevated, confined, noisy, and physically demanding areas.
• Lift and move materials and equipment as required.
• Follow safety procedures, site requirements, and project instructions.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and installation standards.

Preferred Experience

The following experience is highly valued:

• Structured cabling installation and cable pulling/routing.
• Fiber optic or cable provider installation experience.
• Inside plant (ISP) telecommunications experience.
• Data center cabling or infrastructure installation.
• Low-voltage technology installation.
• ADT, security system, or security camera wiring experience.
• Basic Layer 1 technology knowledge, including fiber and copper cabling.

Required Qualifications

• Understanding of basic Layer 1 technologies, including fiber and cabling.
• Previous hands-on experience working with cable installation, wiring, or related infrastructure is preferred.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a physically demanding construction/data center environment.
• Ability to work on ladders and in elevated, cramped, noisy, and confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Willingness and ability to learn new processes and technologies.
• Must understand the physical requirements of the position and be comfortable working long hours on ladders and performing repetitive physical tasks.

Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding. Candidates must be able to:

• Lift up to 35 lbs. individually.
• Lift 41+ lbs. with assistance from a team, as required.
• Stand, bend, reach, kneel, and work for extended periods.
• Work in cramped, elevated, noisy, and active construction environments.
• Safely climb and work from ladders.
• Perform repetitive cable pulling, routing, and installation activities.

Shift Options

Candidates should be prepared to work one of the following schedules, based on project needs:

Option 1 — Front Half / Back Half

• Sunday–Wednesday or
• Wednesday–Saturday
• Approximately 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch

Option 2 — Monday–Friday

• 8-hour daytime shift
• Exact start and end times to be determined
• Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch
