Custodian Part TimePerforms custodial support for school activities. Custodians will strive to provide a clean, healthful and pleasant environment for students, staff and school patrons.Essential Job Functions:Responsible for routine custodial duties in all areas of the buildingRespond to spills, accidents, etc. that require immediate custodial attentionResponsible for cleaning light fixtures and changing bulbs & lampsResponsible for anticipating supply needs and reporting them to the Head CustodianResponsible for maintaining custodial closets in a clean and orderly conditionResponsible for providing assistance to maintenance personnel when directedPerform related or special tasks as assigned by the Head Custodian and School AdministratorPerform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materialsPromote an environment free of harassment and discriminationDemonstrate a commitment to workAbility to work independently with minimum supervisionDemonstrate good judgment and common senseAvailable to work additional hours and/or be on call as required to meet the needs of the positionMaintain a professional attitude and a positive relationship with stakeholders at all timesPerform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assignedWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, dust, odors, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, freezing wet and/or humid conditions, wet/slippery surfaces, risk of shock, vibration and varying levels of noise/sound.Assist with other duties as assigned.Equipment Use hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners. Operate equipment and machinery in a fashion to provide a safe environment.
