Position Summary
You'll be responsible for operating manual lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines, grinders, and other Machine Shop related equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters based on job requirements and material properties.
- Measure, inspect, and verify workpieces using precision measuring instruments.
- Adjust machine settings, tooling, and workpiece positioning to maintain quality and productivity.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, identify defects' root causes, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems.
Required Skills
- Proficient in setting up and operating manual lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manual machinist in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
Work Environment
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift and move material or parts that weigh up to 50 pounds.
