Job Title: Framing Carpenter

Job Description

Join a commercial multi-family construction project in the Kansas City metro area as a framing carpenter, contributing to the successful build of new structures through high-quality carpentry and framing work. You will work full-time on-site, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the opportunity to earn 40–50 hours per week while collaborating closely with foremen, laborers, and other field staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform framing carpentry work on a multi-family commercial new-build construction site in the Kansas City metro area.
• Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to complete framing and related carpentry tasks accurately.
• Use power tools, hand tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures to cut, assemble, and install framing components.
• Assist with general construction duties including concrete work, finishing, and general labor tasks as needed.
• Support site cleanup activities, ensuring work areas remain organized, safe, and free of debris.
• Collaborate effectively with foremen, foremen assistants, laborers, and other team members to complete assigned tasks.
• Follow directions from supervisors and foremen, adapting to changing priorities and job site needs.
• Apply a willingness to learn new techniques and methods, developing skills across framing, finish work, and general construction.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and site procedures while operating tools and performing physical labor.
• Contribute to a positive and productive job site culture through reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Essential Skills

• Relevant construction experience in commercial or multi-family projects.
• Experience in laborer or carpentry roles with exposure to framing and general construction tasks.
• Ability to perform framing carpentry, including cutting, assembling, and installing structural components.
• Proficiency using power tools safely and effectively in a construction environment.
• Proficiency using hand tools such as hammers, saws, and drills for carpentry and general labor tasks.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and basic construction drawings.
• Competence using a tape measure and performing accurate measurements for cutting and layout.
• Ability to assist with site cleanup and maintain an organized work area.
• Ability to work well with foremen, foremen assistants, laborers, and other team members.
• Ability to take direction from supervisors and follow instructions consistently.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop new construction and carpentry skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in commercial new-build construction environments.
• Exposure to concrete work, finishing, and general labor on construction sites.
• Comfort working within a structured field organization that includes superintendents, project engineers, foremen, and assistants.
• Strong work ethic with reliability in attendance and punctuality.
• Good communication skills for coordinating tasks and clarifying instructions on-site.

Work Environment

This role is based on a commercial new-build construction site, primarily focused on new multi-family structures in the Kansas City metro area. You will work on-site in an active construction environment, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with an expected workload of 40–50 hours per week. The job involves regular use of power tools, hand tools, and measuring tools, as well as physical labor such as lifting, carrying materials, and moving around the job site. You will work outdoors and indoors depending on the phase of construction, alongside a field team that includes superintendents, project engineers, foremen, and laborers, in a setting that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and productivity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, KS.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
