Key Responsibilities

• Tool Fabrication: Create and repair tools, dies, molds, and fixtures according to specifications. This involves using machines such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to shape metal parts accurately.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure tools are made to precise dimensions, often within a few thousandths of an inch.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished tools and dies for defects and ensure they meet quality standards. Conduct test runs to verify functionality.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in production.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance on tools and machinery, troubleshoot issues, and recommend repairs or modifications as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of machining processes and the ability to operate various manufacturing equipment. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers is essential.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and resolve issues related to tool performance and production efficiency.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality output and adherence to specifications.
• Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or GED.

Hours 36 up to 40 hours per weekend
