Lead Application Engineer – Switchgear Overview Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Lead Application Engineer for its Switchgear marketing team. The position is located in South Milwaukee, WI and offers a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The expected annual salary range is $97,000–$143,000. Responsibilities Customer Relationships Sales Growth – proactively own assigned sales regions to drive growth and establish priorities. Application Support – perform specification/application reviews to guide the proposals team in preparing larger or more complex quotations. Customer Engagement – work with field sales teams to cultivate relationships, specify appropriate products, solutions, and innovation ideas, and meet with customers at factories and sites to discuss needs and product issues. Customer Support – analyze and resolve customer complaints. Complex Problem Solving – handle complex technical issues and provide advanced solutions. Product Management Industry Expertise – collect voice of the customer (VOC), develop product requirements, and prepare/present business cases for highly strategic projects. Marketing Promotions – develop promotional materials, sales tools, and promotional programs. Training and Development – conduct sales force training on advanced product applications and develop additional training materials. New Product Marketing – serve as marketing representative in new product project teams. Lead Marketing Projects – lead studies, competitive studies, and customer loyalty programs. Strategic Marketing Advanced Technical Expertise – monitor industry trends, application trends, competitive products, and new technology developments to become a technical expert on underground switchgear products and markets. Innovation – identify and analyze opportunities for product innovation. Strategy Development – participate in developing long‑term strategies and marketing material for business reviews. Continuous Improvement – drive continuous improvement initiatives within the marketing team. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing, engineering, sales, or product support. Eaton will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred. Two or more years of experience working with electrical power distribution switchgear, applications, systems, and standards.
