Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Cardiovascular ICU – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (0700-1930 and 1900-0730), every other weekend, some holidays, no call required. Flexible scheduling available including 4x12 schedules or blocked weekends based on traveler preference.

Highlights:

• 27-bed Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic ICU in a Magnet-designated academic medical center
• Patient ratios typically 1-2 patients; may expand to 3 general care patients during lower acuity periods
• Specialized patient population including CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants, LVAD, aortic dissection repair, and cardiac medical patients
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Dynamic care environment with both planned and emergent procedures, supported by 2 charge nurses and a resource nurse per shift

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin or compact state RN license
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care CVICU experience within the last 3 years
• Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH machine required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable areas preferred
• Proficiency with specialized equipment including CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO
• Must successfully pass telemetry exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria
• Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
• Willingness to float as needed within the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
