School Nurse

TITLE: School Nurse

DEPARTMENT: K-12 School Nurses

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or Assistant Principal

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Director of Special Programs and Building Administrator

BASIC FUNCTION:

The school nurse supports the well-being and educational achievement of PK-12 students by delivering professional healthcare services, managing medical needs, and fostering a safe, healthy school community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

1. R.N with a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
2. Current Iowa License
3. Knowledge of professional standards (Nurse Practice-Act) and other statutes

Desired:

1. Previous experience in similar position
2. Experience working with children/students
3. Experience working with children/students with varying degrees of health care needs.
