Software Support Analyst

Job Title Software Support Analyst Employment Type 6‑Month Contract to Hire Location Chesapeake, Virginia, United States, 23320 Overview The Application Support Analyst is responsible for providing expert technical product support to clients, troubleshooting complex software application issues quickly and effectively. Duties include responding to clients promptly and professionally, accurately documenting issues and resolutions, and collaborating with clients and internal employees to solve complex technical problems. Responsibilities Assist Technical Support Analysts in providing support for end users. Diagnose and resolve user problems and educate users on resolutions promptly and professionally. Ensure end‑user needs are met with consistently high quality of service. Engage appropriate resources to resolve technical issues and update clients on progress toward resolution. Fully document each client issue and resolution. Work on special projects to improve the operating efficiency of technical/application support. Participate in the on‑call support rotation. Assist in the QA process of new releases of the software. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (or an Associate’s degree with 4+ years of experience). 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience troubleshooting and resolving customer tickets for hardware/software and proprietary applications. Programming background in Java, HTML, Oracle, and SQL web development tools. Experience with Oracle, Java, and C++ highly preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Ability to take ownership of client issues until resolution is achieved. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and technical judgment. Effective communication and coordination with peers and management. Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations. Experience and creativity in troubleshooting software application problems. Self‑starter, self‑motivated, energetic, extrovert willing to interact with a team, organized, and independent.
