Admin Support SpecialistThe temporary Administrative Support Specialist, Co-Provider Scheduler position aligns with the significant expansion of clinical services, which includes UNC Family Medicine, UNC Family Medicine Durham, UNC Family Medicine South Durham, and UNC Family Medicine Carraway Village clinics, inpatient services at Hillsborough Hospital with three provider teams, the hospital Observation Unit service, and the incorporation of services at Chatham Hospital including Emergency Department, Hospitalist, and Maternity Care. Additionally, two new rural and underserved residency sites with twelve of 42 resident providers. To support these developments, the department has expanded its faculty and resident provider teams and now encompasses a broad range of provider types, including specialists in sports medicine, preventive medicine, behavioral health, nutrition, and clinical fellowships. These multi-phase expansions have necessitated the acquisition and ongoing maintenance of Lightning Bolt Scheduling (LBS) software. LBS is a robust and complex scheduling platform with a scalable algorithm, supported by LBS engineers in collaboration with this position. MS-Office Outlook is used to manually transfer schedules from LBS to Outlook. The co-provider scheduler is trained to perform all functions of the provider scheduler and support the scheduler as a 'cross-checker' to ensure 100% accuracy in provider scheduling. As the coordinator for Medical Student Education Scheduling, this position is responsible for support and coordination of scheduling and calendars for various medical learners, including but not limited to PA students, CBPC students, shadow students, and AI students. The position fields requests, maintains tracking systems, and works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless educational experience for various medical learners. In addition, the position will provide MSE administrative support and event coordination. The integration of MSE schedules and provider schedules will result in a projected project to migrate all operations schedules in the LBS software to improve accuracy, consolidate functions and increase reporting functionality. This position will be expected to take a lead stakeholders role in the integration(s).
