Paramedic - Emergency Department

Job Summary Location: Medical City Arlington Shift: Full‑Time, Days (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) with rotating weekends The Paramedic will provide quality care to patients under the direction of the Medical Director in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Medical City Healthcare. Reports to the charge nurse for shift assignments and direction of shift duties assigned. Responsibilities Assist with obtaining and documenting vital signs and placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non‑invasive blood pressure monitoring systems. Assist with other technical functions such as obtaining 12‑lead EKGs, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks and maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis. Assist with patient care and treatments including positioning patients, application of sterile dressings, immobilization of extremities, cast and splint applications. Complete basic psychomotor skills and activities related to care. Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters and nasogastric tubes. Clean and stock carts, rooms, and change linen as required. Provide written instructions and/or educational materials to patients and family members. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Paramedic certification. No travel required. At least 1 year’s experience required.
