Position Overview Part‑time Hospitalist Veterinarian focused on inpatient care at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, North Carolina. Communicate and educate clients regarding care plans and progress. Maintain accurate medical records. Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations. Evaluate and monitor daily hospital protocols from intake to discharge. Attend daily rounds to ensure high standards are upheld. Participate in practice‑management updates and training. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university. Current state veterinary license. DEA registration, properly maintained. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills. Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform occasional moderate physical tasks. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Advanced clinical knowledge across multiple systems and the ability to diagnose and prescribe treatment. Problem‑solving ability for high‑quality hospital management. Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff. Professionalism in a collaborative veterinary team environment. Business acumen regarding veterinary practice management and finances. Ethical decision‑making in patient care. Commitment to continuing education and teaching others. Pay Range

$140,000 — $150,000 USD
