PT Retail Sales Associate at H.D Gruene Mercantile

H.D. Gruene Mercantile is opening soon, and we're looking for friendly, dependable Sales Associates to help create a warm, memorable shopping experience. Retail Sale Associates ensure our stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. Our goal is to provide everyone who comes in the store with an amazing shopping experience, while showcasing our Texas charm! In addition to working at the H.D. Gruene Mercantile, team members may also work at other Gruene retail locations, including Cotton Eyed Joe's, The Company Store, and may occasionally assist with selling official Gruene Hall merchandise at Gruene Hall.

What you bring - minimum qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older 
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends 
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred 
• Strong customer service skills 
• Excellent verbal communication 
• Familiarity with POS systems a plus 
• Ability to quickly perform basic math without assistance

What you will do

• Handle cash transactions accurately 
• Engage with customers to promote store products 
• Provide excellent customer service 
• Operate POS systems 
• Maintain strong product knowledge 
• Stock and replenish merchandise 
• Perform opening and closing procedures 
• Maintain dressing rooms
• Greet customers warmly and thank them upon exit 
• Fold merchandise neatly and maintain display standards 
• Clean and maintain overall store appearance 
• Maintain active floor presence to assist customers and prevent theft 
• Tag merchandise 
• Stay knowledgeable about Gruene events and local information 
• Work independently with minimal supervision 
• Collaborate effectively as part of a team 
• Perform additional tasks as assigned 

Physical requirements and working conditions

• Able to kneel or squat frequently 
• Able to move boxes of product up to 50 lbs. (with assistance if necessary) 
• Able to stand for extended periods of time 
• Able to climb ladders
