Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Stepdown RN provides specialized patient care for individuals in a stepdown unit, ensuring continuous monitoring and management of critical conditions. This role requires delivering high-quality nursing interventions during night shifts while adhering to hospital protocols.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess and monitor patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in clinical status.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and standard protocols.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and modify patient care plans.
  
  
• 
  Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records using Epic.
  
  
• 
  Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
  
  
• 
  Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding ongoing care.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid SC or Compact RN license prior to start date.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a stepdown or ICU setting.
  
  
• 
  Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical documentation.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  
  
• 
  Reliable transportation with a radius of over 60 miles, as local candidates are not accepted.
