Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

The registered nurse will work in a specialized cardiac intensive care unit. The nurse will care for patients post open-heart surgical procedures. Common patient conditions include CABG, valve replacements, dissections, and severe heart failure. The nurse will manage various medical devices such as IABP, Impella, and ventilators. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses and respiratory therapists. This position requires the nurse to have strong time management and organizational skills. Nurses are expected to take a full patient team and float to different levels of care. Weekend and holiday shifts are required on a rotating basis. Appropriate attire is expected, and scrubs must be clean and suitable. Successful candidates will demonstrate compassion and a positive attitude.

Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred, CCRN a plus Must-Have: - Proficient in cardiovascular ICU components - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and communication abilities - Capability to interpret cardiac strips - Experience with titrating drips
