Application Deadline 04/29/2026 Location 100 King Street West Job Overview The Associate Director supports the growth and risk‑management objectives of the portfolio by leveraging advanced financial analysis, credit analysis, and relationship management. The role requires collaboration with senior leadership and responsibilities across credit decisioning, portfolio oversight, and new business development. Responsibilities Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for new and existing commercial banking loans in an assigned portfolio. Make credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies and procedures while maintaining an exceptional client service environment. Negotiate loan structures, terms and conditions that align client requirements with the bank’s risk appetite and policies. Assess client repayment capacity using financial models and analytical tools to recommend appropriate loan structures and collateral requirements. Sign off on new, renewal and extension loans within delegated authority. Monitor portfolio to identify deteriorating credit conditions and compliance, analyze metrics, and assess broader industry trends to spot risks and opportunities. Evaluate portfolio performance and recommend capital allocation strategies that optimize returns with investment objectives. Lead proposal development and deliver presentations to capture new business and expand client relationships. Network with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices. Develop and execute business development plans focused on enhancing client relationships and growth opportunities within the portfolio. Build and maintain client relationships to ensure long‑term financial performance in collaboration with Relationship Managers and business partners. Support new, renewal, and extension loans aligned with client needs and bank & risk policies. Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments of clients’ credit information to provide insights and make informed decisions. Minimize BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines. Serve as a point of contact for service requests, ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Escalate issues when needed. Identify revenue and cross‑selling opportunities to enhance portfolio growth. Leverage analysis tools to nurture and grow a portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds and evaluate client returns proactively. Manage timely and accurate data entry into BMO’s systems and leverage the data to support decision‑making. Qualifications Preferred 5–7 years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment. Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance, and Accounting preferred (any related discipline or commensurate work experience considered). Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience. Foundational proficiency in structuring deals. Advanced proficiency in problem solving, collaboration, detail‑oriented work, customer service, loan structuring, regulatory compliance, portfolio management, credit risk assessment, banking operations, and Microsoft Office. Expert proficiency in financial analysis. Compensation Salary: $69,000.00 – $129,000.00 (salaried). Compensation may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications and may include a commission structure, performance‑based incentives, and discretionary bonuses.
