Accounting Contractor – Job Description Title: Accounting Contractor Location: Remote (must be able to meet in office as needed) Company: Canopy Works, Inc. Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Contractor to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role will focus on transaction processing, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records to support month‑end close and compliance activities. Working Hours Approximately 25–30 hours per week Preferred Schedule 5 hours per day, Monday–Friday 6 hours per day, Monday–Thursday Key Responsibilities Perform daily cash reconciliation and investigate discrepancies Handle daily accounts payable (AP) processing, including invoice review and entry Manage credit card transactions, including coding and invoice matching Ensure accurate data entry in QBO, including invoice updates and GL coding Conduct monthly reconciliations for cash accounts, accounts payable, and T&E reports Prepare and post monthly journal entries for fixed assets and prepaid expenses, and maintain supporting schedules Review credit card transactions for compliance with company T&E policy and flag issues Support annual tax filings and 1099 preparation Qualifications 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Strong familiarity with QuickBooks Online (QBO) Experience with AP tools (e.g., Bill.com) and expense platforms (e.g., Ramp) preferred Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliations High attention to detail and ability to work independently Strong communication skills and responsiveness in a remote environment #J-18808-Ljbffr Canopy
