Shift / Schedule: Day shift, 4x10 Hours, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Job Summary

This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab at a regional medical center. The unit averages 15 cases per day. The facility accepts first-time travelers and locals. 40 hours can be offered per week.

Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care in the Electrophysiology Lab setting, including conscious sedation during procedures - candidate must be comfortable providing conscious sedation.
Serve on a rotating late team schedule: there is a late 1 team and a backup late 2 team. One day is designated "1st Late" and another is "2nd Late." 1st late is the team that completes the last case of the day and gets the patient to their next level of care; 2nd late is the secondary team to help close out the second-to-last patient.
All team members are given, at least, one 1st late and one 2nd late a week. Traveler will be assigned additional late shifts to help fill scheduling holes. If there is a smaller case load with rooms ending early, traveler will be selected to stay to help ensure they meet the 40 hours. Overtime is not expected but could be a result.
Perform and assist with special procedures including: Ablations (VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node); ICD/Pacer Placement and exchanges; Laser Lead Extraction; Lead extraction; LAAO (Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion).
Utilize special equipment including: PFA, Cryo, Client, IVUS, Cardio Lab, and EPIC: CUPID.
Operate within unit systems for medication, documentation, and communication: Pyxis, Cupid (EPIC & Cardio Lab), and SBAR.
Stock supplies as needed to support unit operations.
Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Flu vaccination required (Medical/Religious exemptions only)
Scrubs provided by facility
Unit orientation: 30 hours

Important Notes

RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a cancel and DNR.
Locals are accepted; local candidates may have a rate difference.
Interview availability: Please provide candidate's interview availability for the next 72 hours when submitting. Manager will not extend an offer without first speaking to/interviewing the candidate.
