Flexible start dates available. Shifts depend on unit needs at time of hire. Role Responsibilities Assess patient condition on admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions ordered by the medical provider(s) and document care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly. Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient response, and notify provider and intervene appropriately for any adverse reaction. Respond swiftly to patient requests and proactively anticipate patient needs. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures; translate complex terminology to ensure complete understanding. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment Other certifications may be required during employment Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse status in the state No previous experience required Some travel may be necessary for training Established in 1974, Henrico Doctors' Hospital is a 340‑bed community hospital offering cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, oncology, physical therapy, women's services and a 24/7 emergency department.
