Job Description We are seeking a Principal Technical Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support services at federal military bases in the United States. The role requires advanced problem‑solving skills, a deep knowledge of network security products, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to customers. Locations On‑site at military bases: Ft. Meade, Maryland; Washington, D.C.; San Antonio, Texas; Norfolk, Virginia; San Diego, California. Candidates must live within commuting distance of the selected base. Requirements U.S. Citizenship only. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, with TSC level. Six‑figure base salary plus 10% bonus and RSUs with full company benefits. After‑hours support ability as required. Responsibilities Provide guidance and support to customer operational and design staff. Act as a trusted advisor on all technical aspects of network security products. Design, implement, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve normal and complex technical issues. Test and replicate customer configurations in a lab environment. Ensure operational and functional requirements are met from a technical standpoint. Track, investigate, and verify software defects reported by customers. Deliver on‑demand technical workshops to customer staff. Collaborate with internal teams (technical support, engineering, product management) on product issues and new features. Work closely with account teams to support the sales strategy from a technical standpoint. Support tuning and optimization of installations in the customer environment. Provide expert guidance to security operations teams on attack mitigation. Develop and implement procedure documents for maintenance activities. Lead software upgrade activities and investigate reported problems. Collaborate with the Professional Services team on product enhancements. Generate customer‑specific technical documentation. Continuously develop and update expertise on company products. Deliver technical presentations to customers and internal teams. Travel to customer sites and internationally for corporate events as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/ECE or related field. 5+ years of experience in service delivery or technical support functions. Strong fundamentals in telecom network and routing environments. Advanced networking skills (TCP/IP, Routing, BGP, MPLS). Experience with NetFlow, SNMP, MRTG, SolarWinds, Wireshark/Tshark. Knowledge of DDoS and mitigation techniques. Understanding of internet and data security protocols ( SSL/TLS, DNS, VPN, IPSEC, GRE). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux and Solaris administration. Knowledge of virtualization and cloud environments. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Travel Travel to customer sites and internationally for corporate events as required.
