Litigation Specialist

Scion Staffing is conducting a search for an experienced Litigation Specialist on behalf of a highly regarded, full-service law firm in San Jose, California. This is a full-time, direct-hire, onsite opportunity supporting a sophisticated civil litigation practice handling commercial litigation, employment law, real estate litigation, and appellate matters. POSITION OVERVIEW: Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Specialist who combines the advanced administrative capabilities of a senior Litigation Legal Secretary with substantive paralegal-level litigation support. This individual will work closely with trial attorneys on complex California civil litigation, managing court filings, calendaring, discovery, document preparation, and trial readiness in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. PERKS: Competitive compensation of $52–$62/hour ($108,000–$129,000 annually), depending on experience Direct-hire opportunity with an established and highly regarded San Jose law firm Exposure to sophisticated commercial, employment, real estate, and appellate litigation matters Collaborative environment working closely with experienced litigation and trial attorneys RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage California state and federal court filings, including e-filing through TrueFiling, One Legal, and CM/ECF, while ensuring compliance with applicable court and local rules Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize complex litigation documents, including motions, memoranda, appellate briefs, and Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities (TOC/TOA) Coordinate litigation calendars, deadlines, attorney communications, and client-related scheduling across multiple active matters Support discovery, including requests and responses, document productions, Bates stamping, indexing, and organization of case materials Assist with pleadings and motion practice, including routine notices, stipulations, proposed orders, exhibits, and supporting documentation Support deposition and trial preparation, including deposition exhibits, witness logistics, trial notebooks, exhibit lists, and other trial materials QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of progressive California civil litigation experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment Strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, Superior Court Local Rules, and federal filing procedures Hands-on experience with California state and federal e-filing, litigation calendaring, document formatting, and TOC/TOA preparation Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro; NetDocuments experience is a plus Exceptional proofreading, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities under tight litigation deadlines COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This full-time, direct-hire position offers compensation of $52–$65/hour ($108,000–$135,000 annually), depending on qualifications and experience.
