PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant: Premier ER + Urgent Care

Job Description

Premier ER & Urgent Care is hiring an experienced PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, to join our San Marcos, TX location.  

The Advanced Practice Provider will be clinically competent while delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Advanced Practice Provider s will effectively interact with patients, significant others and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing. This includes but is not limited to patient evaluation and management, patient assessment, therapeutic treatment as ordered by the physician, laboratory testing, and patient discharge and education.

The PRN position will work 8am-8pm, we would prefer someone who is able to work a minimum of one day per week.  

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES 

• Provide patients and their family with a customer focused friendly, reassuring and open environment that encourages patient participation in health care decisions. 
• Assist in patient care to the extent that training and education allows. This may include duties not usually performed but that are within the scope of practice.
• Encourage a work environment that is friendly and respectful.

The Advanced Practice Providers primary purpose is to provide effective, efficient and primary care to Premier patients. The APP provides general treatment, conducts examinations, treats illnesses, orders and reviews lab tests and prescribes medication for children and adults. The advanced practice provider will conduct follow up calls to patients to discuss patient’s progress and address any concerns. In addition to this, the Advanced Practice Provider collaborates with providers and other multidisciplinary staff; provides support for staff, patients and family; assures quality of care by developing and interpreting company philosophies and standards of care; adheres to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assitant Program required.
• Valid Texas Nurse Practitioner license required.
• Must have BLS certification.
• Must have a valid DEA license in the state of Texas.
• Must be able to meet and maintain current Premier credentialing and privileging requirements.
