Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages in a hospital setting. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and emotional support throughout the birthing process.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and monitor fetal and maternal vital signs during labor and delivery.
• Interpret fetal heart rate patterns and respond appropriately to changes.
• Assist physicians during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
• Perform procedures such as amniocentesis, amnioinfusions, and IUPC/FSE placements.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with minimum 1 year of labor and delivery experience.
• Proficient in starting IVs, drawing labs, and fetal strip interpretation.
• Certified in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Ability to perform vaginal exams and act as an OB circulator.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong time management.
• Compassionate, caring, and empathetic personality.
