DUTIES
- Serve as the primary intake coordinator for employee relations inquiries, delivering front-line customer service, managing case documentation, and ensuring consistent triage on priority, complexity, and risk.
- Receive, document, and classify complaints and workplace concerns using an established intake rubric to determine tier level (low, moderate, high risk).
- Route cases to the appropriate HR Business Partner based on urgency, complexity, subject matter, and risk level, ensuring timely acknowledgement and tracking.
- Support HR Business Partners through the coordination, tracking, and compliance of employee relations cases, investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and policy interpretation.
- Coordinate meetings, mediations, and hearings, including preparation of supporting materials.
- Generate weekly and monthly employee relations activity reports; track trends and assist with KPI reporting.
- Prepare executive summaries and support audits, public information requests, and compliance reviews related to employee relations matters.
- Ensure consistent application of intake procedures and assist with policy documentation and cross-referencing.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance documentation, tracking, and operational efficiency of employee relations and case administration.
- Ensure compliance with Civil Service governing statutes, local rules, and open meeting requirements.
- Coordinate Civil Service Commission meetings, examinations, eligibility lists, hearings, and official communications.
- Prepare Civil Service agendas, meeting notices, minutes, and official records in accordance with procedural and legal requirements.
- Maintain Civil Service documentation and ensure transparency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as liaison between the Civil Service Commission, Human Resources, department leadership, and external stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; and,
- Four (4) year's experience in employee relations, compliance, HR operations; and,
- Must have a PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

- Must have and maintain a valid Class "C" Driver's License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law).
- Must possess and maintain a PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
- Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, employment history verification, and social security number verification check.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements SAFETY
- Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition; perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, as appropriate and/or notify leadership immediately of needed repairs.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing; operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Promptly report unsafe conditions in the work area and/or any conditions that are not immediately correctable to leadership.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; modular tables and chairs and event materials for meetings and trainings.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Lifting no more than 20 pounds and carrying up to 10 pounds.
- Environment: Works in an office setting and occasionally outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold, humidity, and inclement weather, and uneven ground; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Travel: Travel to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be available to attend Civil Service Commission meetings and hears. Must be able to work after normal business hours, overtime, and weekends, as needed.
