Transportation Specialist

Description We are currently looking for a Full Time Transportation Specialist to join our Violence Prevention Services Program Team – a team located at the Family Preservation Services. Summary: Transports Chickasaw citizens and other First Americans in Residential Services Division facilities to and from appointments, meetings, placements, and activities within the Chickasaw Nation with an emphasis in and around the assigned area. Responsibilities Maintains schedule to establish time and mileage as best possible Properly cares for vehicle and it's component parts as prescribed by the company to maximize wear and to extend its useful life Inspects each vehicle weekly using the correct procedure and completes the trip inspection form, check safety equipment Keeps vehicle clean and orderly with daily cleaning after each trip as well as checks for lost items Fuels vehicle, checks and adds fluid when needed in accordance with Chickasaw Nation standards Attends all required in-service training, school, required meetings and training as well as any other required meetings Transports Chickasaw citizens and other First Americans to and from appointments, meetings, and activities as needed May transport items within the Chickasaw Nation with an emphasis in and around assigned area Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment Maintains and promotes professionalism Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area Performs all other duties as assigned Competencies Essential: Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment or periods of time Ability to work independently Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines Understand Native American culture and tribal programs Knowledge of federal, state and local law and law enforcement regulations Knowledge of motor vehicle laws and regulations Knowledge of reading and use of a map Care for people with diverse special transportation needs Must have empathetic understanding of common social problems (i.e., addictions, mental health problems, domestic violence, sexual assault, etc.) Ability to remain calm under stress Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management Keeps written records Skills Essential: Demonstrates strong self-management skills, including maintaining a healthy work life balance to ensure quality customer service Experience Essential: No prior experience required Education Essential: High School, GED or Equivalent Credentials Essential: Must be 21 years of age or older Pass general background check Standard Driver's License Class C Commercial Driver's License Working Conditions Essential: Customer service Elder/citizen homes Works in a hospital or clinic environment Mix of office/non-office settings Organized Outside, all weather conditions Structured Computers, printers, phones Potential exposure to biohazards Potential exposure to contagious diseases Moving mechanical staff in a variety of settings and situations Interacts with young children Pass pre-employment drug test Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach Able to drive assigned vehicle types Frequently assist with lifting patients Sometimes lift and or carry up to 100 lbs Sometimes lift and or carry over 100 lbs Light to non-strenuous work Sitting up to 50% of shift Standing up to 25% of shift Visual acuity for detail, distance, color, depth perception Walking up to 25% of shift May work day shift May be on-call Travel is primarily in Oklahoma Requires driving Requires driving for extended periods Travels up to 50% Car, van, light truck Must not have charges or arrests for substance abuse related offenses within the past two years If applicable, must have at least one year of sobriety May be required to assist individuals who are under the influence Training It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their
