Tech Stack: Personal Computer, Telephone, Printer, Scanner, Calculator What You’ll Actually Do Monitor: Monitor federal and third-party grant and program funds to ensure accurate fund results. Audit: Audit basic invoices, billings, and tax-related accounting documents for compliance with departmental policies, contract terms, and federal and state laws. Analyze: Analyze general ledger transactions and account documentation from external customers to ensure accurate recording and appropriate application of funds and expenditures. Reconcile & Process: Perform basic reconciliations of general ledger accounts, prepare financial activity reports, process accounts payable transactions and accounting journal entries, and prepare sales tax returns. Communicate & Manage: Gather account information from internal and external customers, solve basic customer billing problems, manage long‑term projects to ensure timely completion, and communicate effectively regarding financial transactions. The Must-Haves Background: Entry-level professional accounting role requiring a bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a bachelor’s degree including thirty‑six quarter hours in accounting, from an accredited college or university. Experience: Entry-level professional accounting experience will be gained during a mandatory one‑year training period, after which successful completion leads to reclassification to the next higher class.
