Shift Lead

Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Description Shift Lead provides on-the-ground leadership to our Technicians to deliver the highest quality of preventative maintenance and restorative cleaning services for floor coverings and architectural surfaces in some of the most impressive commercial facilities in the world. The Shift Leader is able to work alone or lead small teams on surfaces including Carpet, Upholstery, Stone, Metal, Tile, Grout, Vinyl, Wood and Concrete. They are skilled at assessing surface conditions and deciding what methods are required to complete the work. They use their technical skill and leadership experience to direct the team to complete the work in the allotted time and are experts in using SOLID’s online portal to record specific job details. The candidate should punctual, have a smart appearance, be a good communicator and be willing to lead by example. Responsibilities Follow company policies and ensure others follow policy. Follow posted schedules to arrive for work on time. Communicate unexpected absence at earliest opportunity. Verify that all equipment (solutions and machines) for each job are loaded onto the vehicle Follow tag-out procedure for faulty equipment and teach others to do the same Load and direct others to load and unload vehicles. Travel to job sites in company-provided vehicle. Refuel vehicles. Maintain safekeeping of client property keys during work hours. Ensure unique client security protocols are strictly adhered to. Follow safety guidelines and operating procedures for equipment and products. Provide on job training to technicians. Use online portals to record all job notes and pictures to ensure each job is completed to expectation. Stop any unsafe actions and report poor behavior to the Operations Manager Follow instruction of Crew Leaders, Operations Assistants, Operations Managers, and Clients. Maintain and train others to maintain cleanliness of equipment, vehicles and warehouse. Perform basic repairs of equipment and tools. Notify Operations Manager of low-supplies of equipment and products. Be accessible by phone and email for shift change notifications. Lead by example. WEEKLY or BI-WEEKLY Attend team meetings. PERIODICALLY Overnight travel to within the United States to assist other teams (consideration will be made to personal circumstances and performance) Overnight travel to participate in specialized group training events. Attend Performance Reviews with Operations Manager. Primary Performance Measurements Zero client call backs 100% training completed on time with passing scores 100% following safety protocols Top Characteristics Ability to travel up to 10% of the time as needed. Willing to learn new skills and train others. Attention to detail with a craftsman’s eye. The candidate should be punctual, have a professional appearance, be willing to work as part of a team Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills The ability to work under pressure to meet set goals and deadlines. Ability to uphold the highest ethical standards. Must be an individual of high integrity. Ability to multi-task and is deadline driven Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Requirements 2+ years supervisory experience. 2+ years janitorial experience or experience with specialist floor maintenance. Experience in cleaning and restoring floor coverings such as carpet, tile, vinyl is preferred. Must be eligible to work within the United States for any employer. A valid driver’s license is preferred and clear to drive company vehicles. Must have reliable transportation to and from office during off shift hours. Basic computer skills to be able to access timecards, training and employment information. Work Environment is primarily indoors in commercial facilities during second and third shifts hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations. Physical demands include 1) walking 6 - 8+ hours, 2) Standing 6 - 8+ hours, 3) Bending 3 – 6 hours, 4) Squatting up to 3 hours 5) Lifting 26 – 70 lbs. About SOLID Surface Care, Inc.
