Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications

Department: Athletics Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education Description Internal Applicants Only Direct all media and communication activities for assigned sports to include athletic website, social media, email, and other public platforms. Create original written content to promote UH administrators, teams, coaches and student-athletes. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external media contacts at the local, regional, and national level; identify opportunities to increase visibility of the UH Athletics program. Collaborate with Athletic Video and Marketing staffs as liaison with teams to create engaging social media content for fans. Maintain department digital statistical files. Manage and review work performed by Sports Information Coordinator. Assist Senior leadership with implementation of department-wide communications plan that integrates with the core mission of the Athletics Department. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience. Additional Job Posting Information Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
