Hostess Position

Club Location: White Columns Country Club - Milton, GA

The Hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional first impression for all members and guests entering the dining areas. This position manages the flow of the dining room, greets and recognizes members, coordinates seating with the service team, and maintains awareness of reservations, table availability, and special requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and acknowledge every member and guest upon arrival.
• Learn and use member names whenever possible to provide personalized service.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and the dining room seating rotation.
• Seat members promptly while maintaining balanced server sections.
• Communicate with servers and managers regarding new tables, special requests, large parties, and member needs.
• Maintain strong floor awareness and monitor table availability throughout service.
• Keep the host stand and entrance area clean, organized, and professional.
• Answer telephone calls professionally and assist with dining reservations and basic club information.
• Communicate expected wait times accurately and keep waiting members updated.
• Assist with menus and ensure they are clean, current, and properly organized.
• Be knowledgeable about current menus, daily specials, club events, dining hours, and promotions.
• Assist in promoting upcoming F&B and club events when interacting with members.
• Recognize returning members and communicate relevant member preferences to the service team when appropriate.
• Assist servers and other team members when needed, including light bussing, resetting tables, and maintaining dining-room readiness.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude throughout the entire shift, including during busy periods and toward the end of service.
• Follow all club policies, appearance standards, and management direction.

Position Expectations

The ideal Hostess is friendly, polished, organized, attentive, and comfortable interacting with members of all ages. The position requires excellent communication skills, teamwork, dependability, and the ability to remain composed while managing multiple priorities.

The goal of the Hostess position is not simply to seat tables—it is to make every member feel recognized, welcomed, and taken care of from the moment they arrive until they leave.
