• We are seeking an experienced Site Civil Department Manager to lead and grow our Site/Civil Engineering team in Columbus, Ohio.

• This is an outstanding opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who enjoys combining technical engineering expertise with leadership, project management, business development, and mentorship.

• In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the growth and success of the organization while working with public and private-sector clients. You will lead projects and people, help develop new business opportunities, mentor the next generation of engineers, and contribute to the continued growth of the Site/Civil practice.

What You'll Do:

• As the Site Civil Department Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the development and growth of the Site/Civil Engineering team.

• Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and support the growth and development of the Site/Civil Engineering department

• Manage, mentor, and develop Site/Civil Engineering staff

• Generate and review detailed engineering drawings and design documents

• Oversee site/civil engineering projects from concept through completion

• Develop scopes of work and prepare fee proposals

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables

• Ensure projects meet quality, technical, and client expectations

• Review engineering plans, studies, and project documentation

• Lead and participate in internal project meetings and client meetings

• Collaborate with professionals across multiple engineering disciplines

• Provide exceptional customer service to public and private-sector clients

• Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and departmental growth

• Assess the Site/Civil development market and identify current and prospective business opportunities

• Balance multiple concurrent projects and priorities effectively

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license

• 10+ years of Site/Civil Engineering experience

• Strong experience in Site/Civil project production and design

• Previous experience managing engineering projects and/or leading a team

• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities

• Strong leadership, mentorship, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to evaluate the Site/Civil development market and identify business development opportunities
