Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary care nursing on a 14-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage a high-acuity patient population including diabetic, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis, post-surgical, wound care, DVT, and ETOH cases
• Administer and monitor medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Collaborate with CNAs, LPNs, and interdisciplinary staff; float to acute care, cardiology, or EC units as needed
• Uphold strict patient safety, satisfaction, and quality of care standards in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Manage patients on CPAP; BIPAP used on nights only

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must be comfortable managing a 1:6 patient ratio
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in a larger, high-acuity, high-volume facility (no Critical Access Hospital experience accepted in lieu of required acuity)
• Familiarity with dialysis patients and wound care including amputations and debridements
• Experience with monitored patients; strip reading not required
