Our Health Sciences Campus: 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912 Job Summary The Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement for the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is responsible for developing and implementing strategic alumni engagement initiatives that strengthen relationships between alumni and the institution. This position serves as the primary liaison for MCG alumni engagement efforts, building partnerships with college leadership, faculty, students, and alumni volunteers to advance engagement goals. The Assistant Director leads the planning and execution of regional alumni events and programs designed specifically for the MCG alumni community, fostering meaningful connections and increasing alumni participation. The role also develops and manages a comprehensive alumni volunteer program, including recruitment, training, stewardship, and recognition of alumni volunteers who support engagement, mentorship, student recruitment, advocacy, and philanthropy initiatives. Responsibilities The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Regional Alumni Engagement Strategy and Program Development Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive regional alumni engagement strategy for the Medical College of Georgia, designed to strengthen alumni affinity, increase participation, and support institutional priorities. Identify key alumni markets and audience segments, assess engagement opportunities, and create a portfolio of programs and events tailored to the interests and needs of MCG alumni. Collaborate with the Director of Alumni Engagement, MCG leadership, and alumni volunteers to establish annual engagement goals and develop innovative initiatives that foster meaningful connections among alumni, students, faculty, and the college. Partner with the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement (PAE) Events Team to coordinate event logistics, communications, budgeting, and execution while maintaining responsibility for overall engagement strategy, program objectives, and participant experience. Alumni Engagement and Medical College of Georgia Liaison Serve as the primary alumni engagement liaison for the Medical College of Georgia. Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, administrators, students, and alumni to identify opportunities for engagement and collaboration. Promote alumni involvement in college initiatives, communicate the impact of alumni engagement efforts, and ensure alignment between MCG priorities and institutional alumni engagement strategies. Regional Event Coordination and Partnership Development Develop and oversee a strategic calendar of regional alumni engagement opportunities, including receptions, networking events, continuing medical education programs, volunteer activities, and other initiatives that advance the Medical College of Georgia's alumni engagement goals. Evaluate opportunities for new programs and partnerships that enhance alumni connections and support the college's mission. Collaborate closely with the PAE Events Team to execute event logistics and operational planning while serving as the primary content and engagement strategist for MCG alumni programming. Work with internal and external partners to secure sponsorships, identify hosts and volunteer leaders, and create meaningful opportunities for alumni to reconnect with classmates, engage with current students and faculty, and remain actively involved with the Medical College of Georgia. Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive alumni volunteer program for the Medical College of Georgia as well as the primary liaison for the Medical College of Georgia Alumni Association and the MCG Board of Directors. Recruit, train, support, and steward alumni volunteers serving in roles such as ambassadors, mentors, event volunteers, class representatives, advisory boards, and speakers. Maintain regular communication with volunteers, establish clear expectations and performance measures, coordinate volunteer recognition efforts, and track volunteer participation and impact. Collaborate with campus partners to identify and fulfill volunteer opportunities that support institutional priorities. Engagement Metrics, Volunteer Impact, and Assessment Track, analyze, and report alumni engagement and volunteer participation metrics, including attendance, volunteer involvement, program outcomes, return on investment, and overall engagement impact. Prepare regular reports and recommendations to inform strategic decision‑making, evaluate program effectiveness, and support continuous improvement of alumni engagement initiatives. CRM Data Management and Alumni Interaction Tracking Utilize the constituent relationship management system (e.g., Raiser's Edge) to document alumni and volunteer interactions, maintain data integrity, and generate reports that support engagement strategies. Manage and update constituent and volunteer records to ensure accurate and timely information for outreach, event planning, volunteer management, and stewardship activities. Additional Duties and Travel Perform other duties as assigned. Travel is required to support regional alumni engagement activities, volunteer management efforts, and institutional events. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education or non‑profit organization, specifically experience in alumni engagement, volunteer management, and event planning or with 5 or more years of experience/training in alumni engagement, sales, marketing or similar. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Master's degree from an accredited college of university. 5 or more years alumni engagement experience in higher education or non‑profit organization, specifically experience in alumni engagement, volunteer management, and event planning.
