Water/Wastewater Engineer (Municipal Projects) $100,000 - $140,000 per year. Salaries are based on years of experience, skillset, and qualifications. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. As a Water/Wastewater Engineer, you will lead the design of cutting‑edge water and wastewater systems, working on municipal and local government projects such as roads, drainage, and site design. Responsibilities Design innovative water distribution, wastewater collection systems, treatment units, and pump stations for municipal and industrial clients. Perform hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, and advanced modeling to ensure robust, efficient systems. Manage the development of plans, specifications, and permitting processes, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet regulatory standards. Prepare technical reports and cost estimates reflecting your expertise and attention to detail. Integrate new technologies and industry trends to enhance project outcomes. Lead client meetings and maintain strong, long‑term relationships, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team culture focused on innovation and success. Play a key role in business development and regional project coordination to drive continued growth and success. Skills and Experience Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, ArcGIS, and related software. At least 8 years of water/wastewater engineering experience with a strong focus on system design and treatment units (10+ years highly encouraged). Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Illinois and/or Missouri P.E. license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with proven ability to manage design teams. Familiarity with Missouri DNR and Illinois EPA water and wastewater regulations and standards. Ability to travel as needed and work overtime to meet project deadlines; excellent communication skills required. Preferred Experience Design experience in water and wastewater treatment, pump stations, lift stations, wastewater collection, and water distribution. Previous experience working with both private and municipal clients in various settings.
