Our client seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract role working with K-3rd grade students in a social communication-focused classroom. Beginning immediately and extending through early June 2027, you will collaborate with a passionate team of educators, implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and ensuring each student’s success in an inclusive environment. The role is designed for someone who thrives on challenge, creativity, and teamwork.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active NM teaching license
• NMPED credentials required
• Background or strong interest in K-3rd grade and early elementary
• Experience or familiarity with social communication programs and strategies
• Commitment to creating a positive, supportive, and adaptive classroom atmosphere
• Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and documentation

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct and support K-3rd students in a social communication classroom
• Create, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each learner
• Work closely with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote student success
• Employ evidence-based instructional practices and positive behavior supports
• Engage with students’ families and caregivers to maintain consistent communication and partnership
• Document student progress and collaborate on multidisciplinary teams
