Key Qualifications:

• Valid New Mexico teaching license in Special Education
• NMPED (New Mexico Public Education Department) license required
• Experience working with elementary-age students, preferably in social communication or specialized settings
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in adapting curriculum and supporting diverse learning needs
• Enthusiasm for individualized instruction and fostering inclusive classrooms

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to K-3 students within a social communication classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to maximize student success
• Use data and observations to adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the school team to ensure student progress
• Foster an engaging, respectful, and safe classroom environment
