Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst

Prepares in-depth financial analyses and research to support management decisions and financial reports Analyzes financial implications of business decisions on results Researches and interprets financial data using advanced financial techniques Develops financial models for business initiatives Collaborates with departments on financial consequences of actions Supports internal and external auditors by preparing analytical schedules Develops and documents system changes or upgrades Prepares complex journal entries and participates in month-end procedures Performs employee benefit accounting and reporting Balances insurance company Annual Statement supplemental schedules with regulators Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field Experience as a Financial Analyst/Accountant or similar position Preparing and developing financial reports Using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems Preparing, analyzing and interpreting in-depth analyses of financial and/or statistical data Model development and manipulation using Microsoft Office products Financial reporting including financial statement preparation, review, and analysis Applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles Preparing complex journal entries Preparing complex account analysis and general ledger reconciliations High-level of attention to detail and accuracy Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and model development, with a strong foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles.
