Local Driver (Non-CDL) - Residential Services

Overview

Drives a light vehicle, such as a truck or van, transporting household goods and furniture to accomplish move projects for homes, apartments, and storage facilities. Supervises Move Specialists, responsible for customer paperwork, and equipment checks. Packs, lifts, and moves household goods and furniture between customer home and truck.

Responsibilities

Drives a 26'ft straight truck and crew members to and from customer's residence with packing materials and crates.

Actively participates in moving materials, equipment, furniture and managing packing and crating of valuables and hard-to-move items.

Responsible for accurate and complete transactions on all paperwork; securing signatures, collection of payment, and reconciliation of discrepancies.

Maintains clean driving record and abides by all laws governing vehicle safety.

Inspects truck for defects before and after trips, submits report indicating truck condition.

Executes activities as assigned by Dispatch, immediately reporting any routing or service changes encountered.

Responsible for transport of commercial equipment and furniture from origin to destination.

Manages on-site crews to ensure efficient packing of household good items and effective service and delivery to clients and homeowners.

Prepare inventories of household goods items when necessary for items to be shipped.

Routinely involves lifting, movement and placement of heavy items by hand or with the assistance of material handling equipment (hand-truck or dolly).

Acts as liaison with customer service reps, dispatch, and warehouse staff to meet Company's obligations to the client.

Represents the Company in a professional manner.

Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.

Qualifications

Active Driver's license (Non-CDL)

Prior Moving and storage or furniture delivery experience is a plus.

Experience as a crew leader or supervisor

Must pass a DOT physical

1+ years of experience driving a commercial vehicle

Capable of lifting up to 80lbs
