Accounting Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a solid next-step opportunity for an accounting professional looking to move into a leadership capacity, balancing hands-on close work with oversight of a growing team, in a hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, and general ledger activity
Review journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables prepared by the accounting team
Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to accounting staff
Support the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements
Assist with audit preparation, pulling together documentation and supporting schedules
Help maintain and strengthen internal controls across daily accounting operations
Identify and recommend improvements to existing accounting workflows
Act as a go-to resource for cross-departmental accounting questions

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4+ years of accounting experience, with some prior lead or supervisory exposure
Solid working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
Comfortable with accounting/ERP systems and strong Excel skills
Strong communication and organizational abilities
Able to juggle competing priorities in a hybrid work setting
