What You Will Do in This Role?

• Supervise and lead an onsite team of Biomedical Equipment Technicians supporting Alameda Health System
• Plan, assign, and direct daily activities related to equipment repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance
• Spend a minimum of 50% of time in supervisory responsibilities, with the remaining time performing technical work in the resident office
• Develop, monitor, and control budgets to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations
• Manage employee performance including hiring, discipline, promotions, evaluations, and salary adjustments
• Provide technical training in equipment operation, repair, preventive maintenance, quality assurance practices, and documentation
• Evaluate equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs with minimal supervision
• Assist with the evaluation of new equipment and recommend electrical and functional conformance to standards
• Participate in hazard identification and medical device reporting to support a safe patient care environment
• Instruct clinical staff on safe equipment operation as needed
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on medical equipment
• Maintain service documentation, files, and parts inventory
• Achieve established productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction metrics
• Participate in on-call rotation as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Will Need for This Role?

• A two-year Associate degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology or an equivalent technical program; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Three to five years of experience in the Biomedical Equipment field
• Preferred certification by the International Certification Commission as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)
