Trust and Estates Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a highly-qualified Trust and Estates Associate with 2-6 years of experience to join their team in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will have a strong background in planning and drafting for clients with taxable estates, utilizing complex estate planning instruments. Duties Plan and draft estate documents for clients with taxable estates. Facilitate the transfer of multi-generational wealth using GST-exempt trusts, GRATs, SLATs, and IDGTs. Manage post-mortem administration tasks. Prepare and review tax returns, including Forms 706, 709, and 1041. Collaborate effectively with lawyers and non-lawyers. Requirements 2-6 years of relevant experience in trusts and estates. Strong organizational, drafting, and analytical skills. Excellent academic credentials. Strong interpersonal skills. Illinois bar admission required. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Illinois. Skills Proficiency in estate planning and tax return preparation.
