Property Accounting Specialist

Property Accountant-Start Immediately!

Looking for a skilled property accountant to support this amazing team. This role is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of partnering with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational success.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting reports for assigned properties
* Complete month-end and year-end close activities
* Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts
* Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
* Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
* Monitor tenant billings, rent collections, and lease-related activity
* Analyze financial results and investigate budget variances
* Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
* Support capital expenditure tracking and reporting
* Partner with Property Managers to review financial performance and operating expenses
* Prepare audit schedules and assist with audits and compliance requirements
* Maintain organized and accurate accounting records

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not mandatory.
* 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property or real estate accounting
* Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
* Experience with Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, RealPage, or similar property management software is preferred
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay: $38-$50 hourly
