You will have the opportunity to work on different types of structural systems, such as prestressed concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, or timber - Analyze field data and perform structural analysis via hand calculations or computer modeling to check as-built conditions or to perform strengthening design - Prepare technical reports for clients that summarize your field investigation, analysis, and recommendations - Work with a project team to prepare design documents, including project drawings and specifications - Assist in project coordination and meetings with internal team members - Review project submittals and shop drawings as part of construction administration services - Perform engineering site visits during construction to observe the implementation of your design Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or better in structural/civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution - Either a Master’s degree in structural/civil engineering, or work experience in structural design, evaluation, and repair of existing structures is preferred - EIT status preferred, not required; employees are encouraged to seek professional licensure - Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal) - Familiarity with using finite element modeling software (SAP, ETABS, etc.) - Familiarity or ability to learn AutoCAD or Revit - Proficient in using MS Office suite - Ability to work in the office and in the field, including climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and riding on swing stages.
